SEIU begins contract talks

Staff negotiates with Broadway League

Contract talks have kicked off between the Broadway League and the Service Employees Intl. Union, the org that reps the porters, cleaners and other maintenance staff members who work at Rialto venues.

The current deal between the League, a trade association of Broadway producers and presenters, and local SEIU chapter 32BJ expires Dec. 31.

List of SEIU goals includes upping wages, improving access to healthcare and the maintenance of pension benefits. Org also reps around 1,000 workers at Gotham arts institutions, including the Met, City Center and Carnegie Hall, among other venues.
