Plowright honored with top post

Actress given gig at English Stage Company

Joan Plowright has become the honorary prexy of the English Stage Company, the governing body of London’s Royal Court Theater.

Plowright was appointed to the post following the death of former prexy John Mortimer in January.

She was previously VP of the English Stage Company, the government-subsidized theater founded in the 1950s and now known as the Royal Court.
