‘Plan,’ ‘9 to 5’ receive League grants

Shows get $5,000 for education initiatives

Manhattan Theater Club’s Broadway production of “The American Plan” and the incoming tuner “9 to 5” have each received a New York Education Grant from the Broadway League.

Each show gets $5,000 to put toward its education initiatives. “American Plan” has more than 650 students from area high schools studying and attending the Richard Greenberg play.

The general management team of “9 to 5,” meanwhile, will put the money toward a planned trip for students at Howard U.’s Dept. of Theater Arts to come to Gotham, see the show and meet pros involved in the production
