Lincoln Center Theater’s Broadway production of Sarah Ruhl’s “In the Next Room, or the Vibrator Play” has booked the Lyceum Theater for its fall run.
As has been the case with all of LCT’s recent Rialto offerings, the show will play a midtown house because the Broadway venue on LCT’s campus, the Vivian Beaumont, is occupied by the extended run of “South Pacific.”
“Next Room” will begin previews Oct. 22 ahead of a Nov. 19 opening. Cast for the show, to be helmed by Les Waters, has not been announced, although Laura Benanti (“Gypsy”) has been mentioned as a possibility.
Also nailing down dates is the Roundabout’s Broadway production of “Present Laughter.” The Noel Coward revival, helmed by Nicholas Martin and toplined by Victor Garber, will begin previews Jan. 2 ahead of Jan. 21 opening at the American Airlines Theater.
