Maxyne Lang to get Publisher Award

Williamson Music prexy honored by Songwriters

Maxyne Lang — prexy of Williamson Music, the publishing arm of the Rodgers & Hammerstein Org — will get the Abe Olman Publisher Award at the gala for the 2009 Songwriters Hall of Fame Awards.

Williamson Music and Williamson Music Intl. publish the scores to “In the Heights,” “Legally Blonde,” “Grey Gardens,” and “Avenue Q,” among many other legit offerings.

Inductees into the hall of fame that night include Galt MacDermot, James Rado and Gerome Ragni, the team behind “Hair,” and Stephen Schwartz (“Wicked”). Gotham ceremony is set for June 18.
