Lithgow, Ehle topline ‘Fitch’

Play to bow at Off Broadway’s Second Stage

John Lithgow and Jennifer Ehle will topline the world preem of “Mr. and Mrs. Fitch,” the latest play by Douglas Carter Beane (“The Little Dog Laughed,” “Xanadu”).

Lithgow (“Sweet Smell of Success”) and Ehle (“The Coast of Utopia”) will play the title roles in Beane’s comedy about married gossip columnists and the lengths to which they go for celeb news.

Play will bow at Off Broadway’s Second Stage Theater, where “Little Dog Laughed” preemed in 2005 before it went on to a Broadway run.

Helmed by Scott Ellis (“Little Dog”), show begins previews Jan. 26 ahead of a Feb. 22 opening.
