‘Jackson’ returns to Off Broadway

Tuner lined up for March previews

Tuner “Bloody Bloody Andrew Jackson” will make a return visit to Off Broadway’s Public Theater next spring, with the show lined up for a production that begins previews in March.

Musical, a punky take on the story of the seventh president by writer-helmer Alex Timbers and composer-lyricist Michael Friedman, was seen in spring as part of the Public LAB season of developing work.

Upcoming incarnation has thesps including Benjamin Walker (as Jackson), Colleen Werthmann and Greg Hildreth reprising roles they played earlier this year.

“Bloody Bloody” is a co-production with L.A.’s Center Theater Group, which staged the musical in 2008, and is presented in association with Les Freres Corbusier, the troupe of which Timbers is a.d.

Tuner will play the Public March 23-April 25.
