'All About Me' books Broadway house
Dame Edna-Michael Feinstein show “All About Me” has locked in a Broadway house, with the production now set to open in March at the Golden Theater.
Offering fills the vacancy that will be left when the Golden’s current tenant, “Oleanna,” shutters Jan. 3. Feinstein previously played the Golden with his 1990 outing “Michael Feinstein in Concert: Piano and Voice.”
New show, a team-up between Feinstein and glam Aussie housewife Dame Edna (the alter ego of comedian Barry Humphries), is penned by Christopher Durang (“The Marriage of Bette and Boo”) and helmed by Jerry Zaks (“Guys and Dolls”).
Produced by Jeffrey Richards, Jerry Frankel, Robert G. Bartner and the Ambassador Theater Group, “All About Me” begins previews Feb. 19 ahead of a March 18 opening.
