Julie White and Stark Sands are among the thesps joining Anne Hathaway in the cast of the Public Theater’s Shakespeare in the Park production of “Twelfth Night.”
White (“The Little Dog Laughed”) plays the prankster chambermaid Maria in the Bard’s comedy, with Sands (“Journey’s End”) cast as Sebastian, twin brother of Hathaway’s character, Viola.
White and Sands join an ensemble that also includes Hathaway, Audra McDonald and Raul Esparza, among others. Daniel Sullivan (“Proof”) helms the show, which features original music by the band Hem.
For the second year, the Public’s first-come-first-served lineup for free tickets to Shakespeare in the Park also will extend to the Internet, with a limited number of ducats available online.
“Twelfth Night” runs June 10-July 12 at the Delacorte Theater in Central Park.
