Celebs sign up for ‘Courage’

Craig, Gyllenhaal added to benefit

Daniel Craig, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Linda Emond and Mike Nichols have joined the lineup for the Public Theater’s “Courage in Concert” benefit, Oct. 19 in the Newman Theater.

The show reunites the cast of the Public’s 2006 Shakespeare in the Park staging of Bertolt Brecht’s “Mother Courage and Her Children,” among them Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline, Jenifer Lewis, Austin Pendleton and Frederick Weller. They will perform songs and poems written by Tony Kushner and composer Jeanine Tesori for the production, with proceeds going to American Jewish World Service and Partners in Health.

Will Swenson and Gavin Creel, lead cast members from the Public’s hit Broadway revival of “Hair,” will host a live viewing of the benefit concert from neighboring venue Joe’s Pub.
