Clark, Hurt, Siberry set for Off B'way production

Victoria Clark, Mary Beth Hurt and Michael Siberry are among the cast of Andrew Bovell’s “When the Rain Stops Falling” in Lincoln Center Theater’s Off Broadway production.

Also featured in the epic drama, which traces 80 years of a family’s history in England and Australia, are Kate Blumberg, Rod McLachlan, Susan Pourfar, Will Rogers, Richard Topol and Henry Vick.

David Cromer directs the play, which starts previews Feb. 11 for a March 8 opening in the Mitzi E. Newhouse Theater. The production marks Cromer’s first New York outing since making his Broadway debut on the critically lauded but commercially short-lived revival of Neil Simon’s “Brighton Beach Memoirs.”

Australian writer Bovell is best known as co-screenwriter of “Lantana,” based on his play “Speaking in Tongues.” “Rain” drew strong reviews earlier this year in productions at the Sydney Theater Company and London’s Almeida Theater.
