Two alums of “Angels in America” and one from “Homebody/Kabul” will star in the world preem of “The Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide to Capitalism and Socialism with a Key to the Scriptures,” the new play by “Angels” and “Homebody” scribe Tony Kushner.
Kathleen Chalfant and Stephen Spinella, who both appeared on Broadway in “Angels,” and Linda Emond, who played the homebody in “Homebody/Kabul,” will star in the show, set to bow this spring at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
Michael Greif (“Rent”) helms the production, which also stars Ron Menzel. Show runs May 9-June 28.
The preem of “Intelligent Homosexual’s Guide” is presented at the Guthrie as part of a Kushner fest that includes Marcela Lorca’s staging of “Caroline, or Change” starring Greta Oglesby, plus a bill of Kushner’s short plays helmed by Tony Taccone (“Bridge & Tunnel”).
