Bobby Cannavale stars in dark comedy
Evan Cabnet has stepped in as director of StageFarm’s upcoming Off Broadway production “The Gingerbread House,” replacing Alex Kilgore on the project following rumors of discontent among the high-profile cast.
Bobby Cannavale, Jason Butler Harner, Jackie Hoffman, Sarah Paulson and Ben Rappaport star in Mark Schultz’s dark comedy about a young couple whose bid for a better life risks destroying their family. First press night for the play has been pushed back one night to Friday to allow for fine-tuning from the new helmer. Opening remains set for Saturday at the Rattlestick Playwrights Theater.
Kilgore is artistic director of StageFarm. Cabnet previously directed short plays by Schultz, Adam Rapp and Elizabeth Meriwether as part of the company’s “Spin” lineup last fall at the Cherry Lane Theater.
