Busch to star in ‘Sister’ for New City

Production will play Feb. 6 - March 7

Charles Busch will star in his own play, “The Divine Sister,” in a developmental production at Off Off Broadway’s Theater for the New City beginning in February.

Frequent Busch helmer Carl Andress directs a cast that also includes thesp Julie Halston (another longtime collaborator of the writer-thesp), Alison Fraser, Amy Rutberg, Jennifer Van Dyck and Jonathan Walker.In “Divine Sister,” a sendup of nun-centric Hollywood pics, Busch will play a Mother Superior trying to get a new school built for her convent in Pittsburgh.

Busch and Andress previously developed the scribe’s “Shanghai Moon” at TNC in 1999 before it went on to an Off Broadway run. “Divine Sister” will play the downtown venue Feb. 6-March 7.
