Box office takes a dip on the road

NEW YORK — The road grosses dipped a negligible 0.6% in Week 52, despite the fact that “Rent” was in layoff that week, bringing the total gross for the 15-show slate to $12,447,727.

For the second week running, “Wicked” broke house records at Norfolk, Va.,’s Chrysler Hall and at Omaha, Neb.’s, Orpheum Theater, where it pulled in the week’s highest gross with $1,389,287.
