Actor takes Tony-winning solo show on tour
Billy Crystal will take his Tony-winning solo show “700 Sundays” on the road again, launching a six-city U.S. tour in Washington, D.C., this fall.
Helmer Des McAnuff returns to direct the production, which also will make stops in Philadelphia; Dallas; Palm Beach and Miami, Fla.; and Atlanta.
Crystal previously toured with the autobiographical “Sundays” following the play’s hit 2005 run on the Rialto, where it broke the record for weekly gross of a nonmusical production and won the 2005 Tony for special theatrical event. Crystal most recently reprised the show in Australia in 2007.
“Sundays” is performed and written by Crystal, with additional content by Alan Zweibel. Janice Crystal, Larry Magid and Face Prods. produce the new tour, which begins perfs in D.C. on Sept. 8.
