Ben Crawford takes on ‘Shrek’ role

Thesp takes over the role Nov. 10

Actor Ben Crawford will step into the title role of “Shrek the Musical” after Brian d’Arcy James exits the production in November.

Crawford is the standby for the part. He’ll take over the role Nov. 10. Last perf for James, who was nommed for a Tony for his perf as the giant green ogre, will be Nov. 8, after which he’ll go on to appear in Manhattan Theater Club’s Broadway production of “Time Stands Still.”
