Show begins previews Sept. 15, opens Oct. 8
Ana Gasteyer has joined the cast of Manhattan Theater Club’s Broadway revival of “The Royal Family,” the 1927 George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber comedy that begins previews Sept. 15 for an Oct. 8 opening at the Samuel J. Friedman Theater.
Doug Hughes directs the production, which also stars Stephen Collins, John Glover, Rosemary Harris, Jan Maxwell, Tony Roberts and Reg Rogers. Last revived on the Rialto in 1975, the comedy centers on an East Side New York theatrical dynasty alarmed at the news that one of its younger members wants to quit the stage for the domestic life.
Gasteyer previously appeared on Broadway in “Wicked,” “The Threepenny Opera” and “The Rocky Horror Show.”
