The New York Intl. Fringe Fest is touting a 48% increase in advance ticket sales as the 13th annual Gotham event kicks off today.
Shows reporting sell-outs at individual performances include “Abraham Lincoln’s Big Gay Dance Party,” “Zipperface!!?! The Hobo Musical” and “A Contemporary American’s Guide to a Successful Marriage.”
Running through Aug. 30, the fest will showcase 201 productions at a wide array of Gotham venues. Fringe offerings that have gone on to future life include “Urinetown,” “Matt and Ben” and “Debbie Does Dallas.”
