Vegas stage show to run 10 weeks with host
Jerry Springer is back as host of “America’s Got Talent” — sort of.
Springer has signed on to emcee the hit NBC talent competish’s live Las Vegas stage show, which launches at the Planet Hollywood Resort/Casino and runs for at least 10 weeks.
Springer is signed on to host “America’s Got Talent Live” throughout that run (which takes place Wednesdays through Sundays) and will remain with the show through at least the end of 2009.
Springer hosted the second and third seasons of “America’s Got Talent,” but more recently has played flamboyant lawyer Billy Flynn in the West End and Broadway productions of “Chicago.”
Announcement was made by FremantleMedia Enterprises games/ entertainment/live event senior VP Andy Felsher, as well as Planet Hollywood Resorts/Casino CEO Thomas McCartney.
“Jerry is the ideal master of ceremonies for the Vegas live show,” Felsher said. “His passion for the brand is almost palpable.”
FremantleMedia Enterprises and Simon Cowell’s SYCO are producing the live show with Planet Hollywood, which will feature the show in its 1,300-seat CHI showroom.
