'Frost/Nixon' thesp experienced mild stroke

Stacy Keach, who stars as the former president in the national tour of “Frost/Nixon,” has been hospitalized after having experienced a mild stroke.

Thesp was diagnosed with the stroke on Tuesday, and according to Center Theater Group, has suffered “no impairment whatsoever of his motor or speech abilities.”

Keach’s understudy, Bob Ari (Broadway’s “The Constant Wife”; “Kissing Jessica Stein”), who also served as understudy to Frank Langella when he starred in the Broadway incarnation of “Frost/Nixon,” took the stage Tuesday night and will continue in the role until Keach can return.

“Frost/Nixon” runs through March 29 at the Ahmanson before traveling to cities including Sacramento, Dallas and Seattle.

Keach has performed in the role since the tour’s inception in September.
