Writer-producer Jeff Rothberg dies

Worked on 'Hiding Out,' 'Bogus,' 'Simple Wish'

Writer-producer Jeff Rothberg died of cancer Oct. 9 in Los Angeles. He was 52.

Rothberg wrote and produced the films, “Hiding Out,” “Bogus” and “A Simple Wish.” In a career that spanned almost three decades, his writing credits also include “The Whole Shebang” and “The Amazing Panda Adventure.”

In 2006, he created and produced “Starface” for Game Show Network. Most recently, he had written two television pilots for Sony TV.

Born in New York, he attended Wesleyan U. and the USC School of Cinema/TV.

He was active for many years in the Jewish Big Brother program.

He is survived by his wife, Meg, two sons, his mother and a sister.

A memorial service will be held Sunday, Oct. 18 at 11 a.m. at the mid-city campus of the Wilshire Boulevard Temple, 3663 Wilshire Blvd., Los Angeles.
