Warner Bros. and New Line will release “Sex and the City 2” in theaters on May 28, 2010.
“Sex 2” will bow in the same slot in which “Sex and the City” opened in 2008.
The bigscreen adaptation of the hit HBO series was a box office hit, opening to $57 million on its way to cuming $152.6 million domestically.
Pic made an even stronger showing overseas, grossing $260 million at the international box office for a worldwide total of $412.6 million.
So far, sequel doesn’t have any direct competition over the May 28-30 weekend. The following frame, Lionsgate is set to release an untitled romantic comedy starring Katherine Heigl and Ashton Kutcher.
