Sony Pictures Classics has picked up U.S. rights to Rodrigo Garcia’s “Mother and Child,” starring Annette Bening, Naomi Watts, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson.

“Mother” is the first pic financed via Falcone’s shingle Everest Entertainment, which will donate a share of its profits from the film to charities providing services and support for women and children.

WestEnd Films is handling foreign sales on the film at AFM this week.

Sony Classics will release the film in 2010.
