Actor will receive Lifetime Achievement Award

Michael Caine will receive the ShoWest 2009 lifetime achievement award at the annual gathering of theater owners in Las Vegas.

Kudo will be presented during ShoWest’s closing night banquet on April 2, two weeks before the limited opening of Caine starrer “Is Anybody There?”

Big Beach, which co-produced the movie with Heyday Films and BBC Films, will release in North America.

“He simply does it all, and he does it all so incredibly well, be it comedy, drama or action,” ShoWest co-managing director Mitch Neuhauser said of Caine’s long career onscreen.

ShoWest begins March 30.
