Samuel L. Jackson has been named host of the ESPY Awards, televised July 19 from the Nokia Theater in downtown Los Angeles.
This will be the fourth time Jackson will emcee the ESPYs, which is the ESPN kudofest that merges the sports and celebrity worlds. He last hosted in 2002 when the show was at the Kodak Theater in Hollywood.
Awards are voted by fans online from June 25-July 11 and handed out at the show, which will tape on July 15.
Jackson has a busy film slate ahead, including the role of narrator in Quentin Tarantino’s summer release, “Inglourious Basterds.”
