Adventure comedy about a witch doctor

Thom Mount’s Reliant Pictures has ponied up $300,000 for Todd Berger’s script “Isaac Gray, W.D.,” an adventure comedy about a witch doctor who uses his power to free patients from evil curses.

Reliant expects to begin shooting the project late this year.

” ‘Isaac Gray, W.D.’ is the kind of fresh, edgy and smart comedy that’s become a rare commodity in today’s Hollywood,” enthused Mount.

Berger recently sold his script “The Happytime Murders” to the Jim Henson Co. He scripted “Kung Fu Panda: The Secret of the Furious Five,” a direct-to-disc spinoff of the DreamWorks toon that was sold with the theatrical release during the holiday season.

Reliant is currently prepping its next picture, Horton Foote’s “Main Street,” in North Carolina.
