Production manager Swanson dies

Worked on 'Rocky,' 'Caddyshack'

Production manager Ted Swanson, who worked on such films as “Rocky” and “Caddyshack,” died July 23 from congestive heart failure. He was 72.

Swanson began his career in television as a page for Los Angeles’s KNXT (KCBS), before becoming head of production for the station’s local programming.

As a producer, he worked on TV’s “The Waltons” and the film “My Father the Hero,” starring Gerard Depardieu and Katherine Heigl, for which he also served as production manager.

His other credits as production manager include “Witness,” “Harry and the Hendersons” and the TV miniseries “The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman.”

He is survived by his wife, Jan, two daughters and a son.
