Pic also named best foreign film at festival

Italian pic, “Tre lire, Primo Giorno,” won top prize at the 9th annual Beverly Hills Film Festival.

The pic also nabbed best foreign film at the fest’s awards gala held Sunday at the Bev Hills Hotel.

Helmer Michael Feifer’s “Drifter: Henry Lee Lucas” picked up three kudos including director, as well as actor for Antonio Sabato Jr. and actress to Caia Coley.

Oscar-winning lenser Haskell Wexler was honored with the fest’s 2nd annual Living Legends Award for his work on such films as “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf” and “Bound for Glory.”

The five-day fest kicked off April 1 with an opening night red carpet event at the Clarity Theater in Beverly Hills.
