Palm Springs to honor Jeff Bridges

Thesp to receive festival's Achievement award

The Palm Springs Film Festival will present Jeff Bridges with its Desert Palm Achievement Award.

Kudo will be presented Jan. 5 at the Palm Springs Convention Center. The festival runs Jan. 5-18.

Past honorees include Daniel Day-Lewis, Sean Penn, Jake Gyllenhaal, Liam Neeson, Nicolas Cage, John Travolta and James Stewart.

Bridges can currently be seen in indie drama “Crazy Heart,” from writer-director Scott Cooper, as a broken-down, hard-living country music singer.

The thesp has received Oscar noms for “The Last Picture Show,” “Thunderbolt and Lightfoot,” “Starman” and “The Contender.”
