Oscar sets deadline for shorts, docus

Submissions must be received by Sept. 1

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences announced Wednesday that submissions for short subject and feature docus must be received by Sept. 1.

According to the Acad, submissions must include an English-language synopsis, a list of film credits, filmographies of either the director or producer, 30 DVD screeners and proof of seven-day qualifying runs during the past year in both L.A. and New York.

Nominations for the 82nd Academy Awards will be announced Feb. 2. The Oscarcast will air live March 7 on ABC.
