Management shingle to align with Renaissance
Brian Medavoy, Devon Jackson and Alan Nevins have hung a new management shingle.
The company will be called Jackson-Medavoy Management and will be aligned with Nevins’ Renaissance Literary & Talent firm. They would have operated under one company name, but Nevins said Renaissance has value with publishers as an entity that reps authors, literary estates and book-speaking engagements.
The formation of the company marks the resurgence of Medavoy, formerly a top manager who was involved in steering the early careers of Tobey Maguire, Jason Bateman, Ryan Reynolds, Jenna Elfman, Josh Brolin, David Schwimmer and Maria Bello and was an exec producer of series including “Dharma and Greg” and “Just Shoot Me.”
Medavoy was a partner in More-Medavoy before merging into TEG with Suzan Bymel and Evelyn O’Neill, who eventually formed Management 360. After moving to Anonymous Content for a year, Medavoy left the business completely for personal reasons.
He found he missed the career-building aspect of the job and re-emerged several months after connecting with Jackson, a former manager at Handprint Entertainment who has run his own company, Trademark Talent, since 2003.
“There was a period in my life that obviously was a difficult one,” said Medavoy. “I learned a lot of things about myself and I am glad that I have been given and created another opportunity. I look forward to the challenge.”
