LaGravenese takes a ‘Wife’

Director takes on love story for Universal

Richard LaGravenese is attached to write and direct the love story “Man and Wife” for Universal Pictures.

Drama centers around an immigrant’s love for the U.S.

Pic will be produced by Double Feature partners Michael Shamberg and Stacey Sher.

LaGravenese directed and wrote Warner Bros.’ “P.S. I Love You” and Paramount’s “Freedom Writers,” both of which bowed in 2007 and starred Hilary Swank.

Gabriele Muccino, the Italian helmer who directed “The Pursuit of Happyness,” had previously been attached to shepherd the pic, based on a script by Lorene Scafaria.
