Movie moments that lead maven's fave list
The “baby Jesus” scene has got to be one of the funniest scenes. It’s just so “wrong,” but that’s what makes it so funny.
When Pierce Brosnan asks Meryl to marry him … probably because I am a total, hopeless romantic. PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS
The scene in which Will Smith says, “Remember you can do anything you put your mind to, and don’t let anyone tell you different.” When I started Relativity, I was told basically by everyone it was impossible and I couldn’t do it. 300 When Gerry (Gerard Butler) says, “This is Sparta!,” basically saying we do it our way, a lot like we did when we started Relativity. 3:10 TO YUMA
The scene in which Russell (Crowe) looks at Christian (Bale) and says, “You mean to say we are still not friends?” It’s a very emotional moment where in a sentence, a world can be said. That one line shows the power one line in one film can have. YOU DON’T MESS WITH THE ZOHAN
The dinner scene with Adam and his parents where he tells them he wants to be a hairdresser. It reminds me of me telling my parents I was in the movie business. PINEAPPLE EXPRESS
The scene in which James Franco is watching TV imitating it. I’ve never seen anyone act stoned so well since Brad Pitt in “True Romance” — not that I know what someone who is really stoned would be like. BROTHERS
The dinner scene is probably my favorite scene of any movie we have been involved with. It is emotionally charged, and something everyone can relate to. I was fortunate to witness the genius of Jim Sheridan in making this happen. NINE
The onstage dancing with all seven women is perhaps one of the defining moments for me in my film career. I don’t think any of us will ever witness so many of our time’s best actresses in a scene like that, together. It is inspiring and left us all speechless. STEP BROTHERS
The quote, “He put his balls on my drums”… basically because it takes me back to childhood when my brother and I would fight, not that I would put my balls on his drums or anything.
