Film unit nabs John Krasinski’s directorial debut

IFC Films has acquired U.S. distribution rights to John Krasinski’s directorial debut, the dark comedy “Brief Interviews With Hideous Men.”

Krasinski also wrote and stars in “Hideous Men,” based on the book by David Foster Wallace.

Pic will be released Sept. 25 in theaters and on the company’s day-and-date platform for video on demand.

“Hideous Men” premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Fest. It stars Julianne Nicholson, Will Arnett, Dominic Cooper, Bobby Cannavale, Timothy Hutton, Christopher Meloni, Max Minghella and Ben Shenkmen.

The film was produced by Eva Kolodner, Yael Melamede, John Krasinski, James Suskin and exec produced by Kevin Connors.
