Groundswell taps production exec

Simpson lands VP post

Jocelyn Hayes Simpson has been hired by Groundswell Prods. CEO Michael London as senior VP of production.

Hayes Simpson spent the past eight years at Killer Films, where she headed the company’s L.A. offices. She most recently produced the Tommy O’Haver Showtime film “An American Crime” and ventured into TV by developing and exec-producing the Showtime series “This American Life.”

She remains a producer of “The Electric Slide,” the Tristan Patterson pic that will shoot this summer.

Prior to Killer, Hayes Simpson worked for Jane Startz Prods.

Groundswell next moves into production on the Dennis Iliadis-directed horror thriller “Cure” and is in post-production on the Andrew Jarecki-directed “All Good Things,” with the Weinstein Co. releasing in the fall. Groundswell also co-financed the Steven Soderbergh-directed “The Informant,” which Warner Bros. releases in the fall.
