ROME — A key plank of Giffoni’s expansion plan is the Giffoni Multimedia Valley, a complex comprising a large outdoor arena, new state-of-the art screening venues, a children’s films cinematheque, a film museum, plus production facilities.
Giffoni topper Claudio Gubitosi is confident 2009 will see construction begin on his dream facility, which he designed, with plans for completion by 2013.
Besides substantially adding to existing infrastructure, the idea is to create a Sundance Institute of sorts for kidpics.
“Giffoni has to generate ideas that producers can tap into,” Gubitosi says. “We will become a laboratory/factory for all types of children’s films and TV products, including soundtracks.”
