Carre, Hands, Thierree to topline 'Voyez'

PARIS — Isabelle Carre (“A French Gigolo”), Marina Hands (“The Diving Bell and the Butterfly”) and James Thierree (“Twice Upon a Time”) will topline Claude Miller’s “Voyez comme ils dansent” (Watch While They Dance) a drama loosely based on Roy Parvin’s short story “Menno’s Granddaughter.”

Pic follows a woman who travels from Paris to a small town in Canada, where her ex-husband has just died.

After falling ill she has to seek help from her ex’s widow, the woman he left her for, and they develop an uneasy friendship.

Patrick Godeau will produce via his Paris-based Aliceleo. Filming will take place in France and Canada late this year or early 2010. Godeau is in talks with Canadian producers and a French distribution company.

Miller’s “A Secret” was a hit in Gaul, earning 11 nominations at the 2008 Cesar awards. It was distribbed in the U.S. by Strand Releasing.
