Ceremony to be held Oct. 25

The Environmental Media Assn., which celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, announced nominees for the 2009 EMA awards to be held Oct. 25 at Paramount Studios in Los Angeles.

EMA prez Debbie Levin said the annual event seeks to honor film and television’s positive role in promoting environmental awareness and sustainable lifestyles.

Among the feature film nods are “Earth” and “The Day the Earth Stood Still.”

Television noms went to “Grey’s Anatomy” for TV drama, alongside “House” and “Brothers and Sisters,” with “The Simpsons” among the noms for TV comedy.
