Film festival set for Aug. 9 at Sunset 5

“Donkey Punch,” a short produced by Emmy winning director, Anthony Russo, and directed by Kenneth Hughes, is set to bow at the 5th annual Hollyshorts Film Festival Aug. 9 at the Laemmle Sunset 5 in West Hollywood.

Penned by FX’s “The Shield” scribe, John Hlavin, and starring Jay Karnes — another “Shield” alum — pic tells the story of a couple, who after meeting online, go on a date that turns into a sexual showdown.

Jordan Goldman, an editor on the cop show, also edited the short.

Fest, which features more than 130 shorts, features and musicvids, runs Aug. 6-13.
