Disney gives ‘Frog’ royal treatment

Toon's premiere sees plenty of kisses

Guests got the royal treatment at “The Princess and the Frog” preem Sunday at Walt Disney Studios in Burbank, including a peek at the Ultimate Disney Experience, featuring all nine of the Disney princesses.

Disney’s newest princess, Anika Noni Rose, noted how driven her character, Tiana, is in striving to open her own restaurant. “People should chase their dreams. But they need to be open to the quiet moments.”

Composer Randy Newman was in charge of the film’s less quiet moments. He said writing for traditional animation was a little different from writing for Pixar’s GC toons. “The music has a diifferent movement. You can’t really play too long because the mood will change.”

Enjoying the New Orleans-style jazz and desserts with exec producer John Lasseter and Disney brass Bob Iger and Rich Ross were pic’s Terrence Howard, Bruno Campos, Jenifer Lewis and Keith David; helmers Ron Clements and John Musker and producer Peter Del Vecho.
