Cinema Audio Society to honor Thom

Event will be held Feb. 27 in Los Angeles

Sound designer and mixer Randy Thom is set to be honored by the Cinema Audio Society with the org’s career achievement award.

Thom, who won the org’s top prize in 1995 for his work on “Forrest Gump,” has earned two Oscars for his work, for 1983’s “The Right Stuff” and for 2004’s “The Incredibles.”

He joins past honorees including Ray Dolby, Jim Webb, Robert Altman and Walter Murch.

Kudofest will be held Feb. 27 at the Millennium-Biltmore Hotel in Los Angeles.
