Baer helped develop Jaswinski's script
Equus Media Development Co. and developed independently. Kopelson said that when they were ready to seek a studio, CBS Films prexy Amy Baer stepped up but asked for dramatic changes to the storyline. “Amy has literally functioned as our partner in the development of this screenplay,” Kopelson told Daily Variety. Kopelson set up the multimillion-dollar development fund with Houston-based Equus Total Return in 2007 so that he didn’t have to wait for a studio to say yes. Since then, he has acquired nine scripts. Wadlow most recently directed “Never Back Down” for Summit Entertainment. Next up for CBS Films is “Faster,” the action-thriller that stars Dwayne Johnson.
