Sorrentino leads Un Certain Regard jury

The Camera d’Or jury will be topped by French thesp and helmer Roschdy Zem, who made his directorial debut with Cesar-winning dramedy “Bad Faith” in 2006 after a breakthrough perf the same year in war drama “Days of Glory,” which nabbed the ensemble cast nod in Cannes.

Cinematographer Diane Baratier (“Looking for Kafka”) and helmer Sandrine Ray (“Alive”), among others, will also sit on the jury and announce the prize winner during the fest’s closing ceremony on May 24.

Twenty films will compete for the Camera d’Or, which was created in 1978 to honor the best first film in the Official Selection, Critics’ Week and the Directors’ Fortnight.

The latest addition to the main competition jury, presided over by Gallic thesp Isabelle Huppert, is veteran Indian actress Sharmila Tagore, who started her career as a child in Satyajit Ray’s “Apur sansar” (1959).
