AMPAS re-ups with Lighthouse

Move allows group to renovate facility

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences has re-upped with vision loss advocacy org Lighthouse International, allowing the group to renovate the screening facility used for the Academy’s east coast office and many of its events. The ten-year agreement will extend and expand the relationship between the organizations and provide for an upgrade of the theater’s projection and sound systems, allowing for digital, 3-D, and 35mm films to be shown at the 236-seat theater. The renovation is skedded for March 1, 2010 through late spring.
