AMPAS, mtvU offer Oscar contest

Students compete for chance to cover event

The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and mtvU have partnered up for the 1st Oscar Correspondent Contest which will give college journalists the opportunity to cover the 81st Academy Awards.

Contestants will be made up of teams of an anchor and videographer and will submit a video showcasing their broadcast journalism skills with the grand prize awarding the two a trip to the awards to cover pre and post backstage coverage.

Submissions can be made from Jan. 8 to Jan. 23 followed by couple rounds of online voting to determine a winner, which will be announced on Feb. 20 at an Academy press conference.
