Alcon Entertainment are fast-tracking “Prisoners,” a thriller that Antoine Fuqua is in final negotiations to direct.
Warner Bros., which will distrib, has already skedded an Oct. 22, 2010 release for the pic, which is in the early stages of pre-production.
Script by newcomer Aaron Guzikowski concerns a small-town carpenter whose wife and daughter are kidnapped.
Alcon’s Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johnson are set to produce along with 8:38’s Kira Davis and Madhouse Entertainment’s Adam Kolbrenner. Robyn Meisinger and Edward McDonnell exec produce.
Fuqua recently directed Overture’s “Brooklyn’s Finest,” starring Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke. That film is set for release Nov. 27. His credits also include “Training Day” and “King Arthur.”
Alcon’s “The Blind Side,” with Sandra Bullock, will be released by Warners on Nov. 20, and Denzel Washington starrer “The Book of Eli” will open Jan. 15.
