Natural Resources Defense Council hits 20

HOLLYWOOD — If scientists could figure out a way to turn Hollywood power into solar energy, Saturday’s dinner celebrating 20 years of the Natural Resources Defense Council in Los Angeles could have lit up California.

Robert Redford, Leonardo DiCaprio, Cameron Diaz , Ron Meyer, Alan Horn, Bob Iger, Jim Wiatt, Ari Emanuel, Norman Lear, Tom Freston and Steven Bochco were just a few of the guests at the BevWilshire dinner, which raised more than $2 million for the org.

While the evening’s focus was on serious environmental issues, a bit of comic relief was provided by emcee Julia Louis-Dreyfus and presenter Jon Hamm, who joked that his eco-friendly tips included “only shaving on the weekends, saving water and reading most of my pornography online, saving several thousand trees.”
