Film stars Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon

Senator Distribution has acquired North American rights to indie family drama “The Greatest,” starring Pierce Brosnan, Susan Sarandon and Carey Mulligan.

“The Greatest,” written and directed by Shana Feste, premiered at Sundance. Pic’s produced by Lynette Howell of Silverwood Films and Beau St. Clair of Brosnan’s Irish Dreamtime.

Story centers on an average American family whose lives are shattered by the death of the teenage son in a car crash. The son’s girlfriend then reveals she is pregnant and intends to keep the child.

Senator Distribution was founded by Marco Weber last year and has set its inaugural releases from Weber’s production arm Senator Entertainment: “The Informers,” opening April 24, and “Fireflies in the Garden,” opening June 19.

It also bought “Brooklyn’s Finest,” which opened Sundance and has been set for a November launch.
