One of the biggest world preems is “The Dancer and the Thief,” the first feature film in seven years from Oscar-winning director Fernando Trueba (“Belle epoque”), a tale of high romance among Chilean down-and-almost-outs.

There’s a good buzz on “The Scouting Book for Boys,” first-timer Tom Harper’s sobering coming-of-ager, and “Masks,” where Catalan actor Josep Maria Pou explains his acting chops. And Mario Iglesia, Galicia’s leading auteur, bows “Relatos.”

Co-hosted by San Sebastian, the inaugural Digital Audiovisual Forum, held Sept. 17 on the eve of the fest, will analyze digital distribution and exhibition.

Sales agents, take note: European Film Promotion imports eight enterprising film buyers for European Distributors: Up Next! Sept. 18-21, a discussion and networking forum.
